1989년 베를린 장벽이 붕괴하고 소련의 해체 뒤에, ‘해방신학의 죽음’이 회 자되었다. 1990년대 이후 신자유주의는 라틴아메리카의 지배적 패러다임이 되 었다. 신자유주의 정책들이 도입되면서 라틴아메리카 지역의 갈등은 더욱 첨 예화되었다. 사회운동들이 급속도로 증가했고, 정치적 혼란과 경제적 위기가 반복되어 나타났다. 이런 갈등과 배제 상황에서 다양한 신학들이 부상했고 발 전했다. 대표적인 것들이 생태신학, 여성신학, 경제신학, 인디오신학이다. 이 연구는 라틴아메리카에서 새롭게 발전하고 있는 위의 신학들이 어떤 내용과 특징을 보이며, 기존의 해방신학과는 어떤 관계를 갖는지 다룬다. 이 연구를 통해 저자는 라틴아메리카에서 해방신학은 죽었다기보다는 새로운 시대에 맞 게 분화하고 있다고 주장한다.
Abstract
After the fall of the Berlin Wall and the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1989, the ‘death of liberation theology’ was discussed. Since the 1990s, neoliberalism has become the dominant paradigm in Latin America. With the introduction of neoliberal policies, conflicts in Latin America have been more acute. Social movements increased rapidly, and political turmoil and economic crises repeatedly appeared. Subsequently Various theologies emerged and developed from this conflict and exclusionary society. Representative examples are several, including ecological theology, women's liberation theology, economic theology, and Indian theology. This study focus on the contents and characteristics of the newly developed theologies in Latin America above-mentioned, and how they relate to existing liberation theology. Through this study, the author argues that liberation theology in Latin America is not dead, but is being differentiated for a new era.
