Abstract
A Study on the Consciousness of Sacrificial Rites in the Shijing(詩經) Moon, Seung-yong 『Shijing(詩經)』 is one of the classics of the Confucian school(儒家) and is divided into three sections, namely Feng(風), Ya(雅), and Song(頌). Ya is divided into two parts, Xiao ya(小雅) and Da ya(大雅). The Xiao ya and Da ya section constitute celebrations composed for banquets and feasts and contains poems of sacrificial rites, which together can be seen as epic of early Zhou(周) history and Oriental religious ethics. The Song section is divided into the Zhou song(周頌), Lu song(魯頌), Shang song(商頌). Most of three Songs are formal, ritual hymns that praise the ancestors envisioned in the rites.(美盛德之形容, 以其成功告於神明者也) This paper is aim to make a study of Zhou(周)`s religious ethics through poems of sacrificial rites in Ya(雅), Song(頌) of 『Shijing(詩經)』 and 『Zhouli(周禮)』, 『Liji(禮記)』. From ancient times Chinese sacrificed specially, but with the ordinary forms, to God(帝 or 天), sacrificed purely to the six honoured ones(六宗), offered their appropriate sacrifices to the hills and rivers, and extended his worship to the host of spirits. But since Zhou(周)'s period, because of the advance of civilization, the religious consciousness was weakened, many scholars were suspicious of God, set importance on worshipping their ancestors, and Land God and Grain God(社稷).
