현대국어 ‘*σ[V’ 제약 관련 음운 현상의 제약 기반적 접근

이 글은 15세기 이후 음절 구조 제약 조건 ‘*σ[V'에 지배되는 음운 규칙의 통시적인 변화를 관찰하고, 이를 바탕으로 하여 이들 규칙을 통시적 규칙과 공시적 규칙으로 구분하고자 하였다. 이러한 작업은 국어 음운론에서 지적되는 음운론적 예외 현상을 손쉽게 설명할 수 있으며, 동시에 공시적 음운 체계 속에서 공시적인 음운론적 해석과 그 결과를 취할 수 있는 이점까지 얻을 수 있다고 주장하였다. 이러한 관점을 바탕으로 하여 이 글에서는 제약 기반 이론의 관점에서 ‘*σ[V'에 지배되는 현대국어 음운 현상을 살펴, 우리의 주장이 현상을 어떻게 설명할 수 있는가를 살폈다. 그 결과 이론적 체계를 어기지 않고 이를 해결할 수 있는 방안이란 현재로서는 찾기 어려우며, 통시적 정보에 대한 체계 내로의 수용 과정이 필요함을 역설하였다.
Abstract
This study makes an attempt to classify a synchronic rules and a diachronic rules for the phonological rules of modern Korean. For the purpose of this, I speculate the historical changes of the phonological rules which is dominated by the syllable constraint ‘*σ[V’ after the fifteen century. It accounts for a exceptional phenomena in modern Korean phonology, on the other hand it is possible for synchrony to explain the rule system. From this point of view, as I research phonological phenomena connected with syllable constraint ‘*σ[V’ in the Modern Korean, I test my opinion's adequacy. In this course, I introduce the constraints-based theory in order to explain phonological phenomena connected with the syllable constraint ‘*σ[V’. In result, to explain ‘*σ[V’-related phonological phenomena the following ranking of constraints can be called upon: Dep-Seg, MinWd≫Max-F(-/ɨ/)≫(Onset, *Com(Nuc))≫ Parse-μ was set.
