한국창작춤 용어의 태동과 경향 - 김태원의 비평관을 중심으로 -

본 연구는 후기현대춤적인 요소를 담은 한국창작춤의 용어태동에 기여하고 그 흐름의 경향적 특징을 찾아내고 기록한 김태원의 비평관을 중심으로 한 작업이다. 그는 비평가로 활동하면서 ‘한국창작춤’이란 용어를 처음 사용했다. 그러면서 후기현대춤으로서의 한국창작춤의 춤예술적 경향으로 ‘제의적 창작춤’, ‘스펙터클적 창작춤’, ‘자유 창작춤’ 세가지로 나누고 주요 안무가의 특성을 제시했다. 특히 그는 ‘한국창작춤’이 많은 우려에도 불구하고 독자적 장르화의 춤의 세력화를 이루며 한국 춤예술의 방향을 크게 현대화시켰고 절충적 흐름은 춤작업에서 현대무용수를 참여시키며 서구 현대무용적 미학을 자신들의 춤에 접목시켰다. 그는 이른바 현대무용에의 즉흥적 테크닉을 한국춤에 끌어들이며 다양한 장르의 등장으로 어떤 테두리나 형식을 벗어나기 시작했다고 보았다. 이어 한국창작춤은 한국 전통춤의 언어를 새롭게 변화시키는 운동으로 번졌으며 전통춤(민속춤)을 현대적 춤과 구별 짓지 않으면서 그것을 융합시켜 가는 작업을 시도했다고 하였다. ‘한국창작춤’은 한 장르로서 40년이 되었고 현재 4세대까지 이른 지금, 이 장르는 여전히 진화하고 있다.
Abstract
The main purposes of this paper contributes to the term origin of korean creative dance with postmodern dance elements and the work focuses on Kim Tae-won’s critical view of finding and recording the trending characteristics of the flow. It was the first time that he used the term ‘korean creative dance’ as a critic. In the meantime, dance artistic trend of korean creative dance as a postmodern dance divided into three categories: ‘ritual’ creative dance, ‘spectacular’ creative dance, ‘free’ creative dance and presented main choreographer traits. In particular, despite many concerns about "Korean Creative Dance," he has greatly modernized the direction of korean dance art by influencing the dance of its single genre, the eclectic flow participated modern dancers in dance work and incorporated western modern dance aesthetics into their dance. That is to say, the impromptu techniques of modern dance have drawn into korean dance and the emergence of various genre has begun to deviate from certain boundaries and form. Moreover, the korean creative dance is spreaded as a new movement to change the language of traditional korean dance and attempted to fuse traditional dance(folk dance) without distinguishing it from modern dance. ‘Korean Creative Dance’ has been 40years as a single genre and now it reached to 4th generation so far, the genre is still evolving.
