Abstract

A study on AiqingCi of Ou-yang XiuOu-yang Xiu, a reformer who made a great innovation in BeiSong literary world, was excellent in Essay and Poem. He wrote a Essay and Poem with short and easy sentences based on Confucianism, on the contrary he used a melancholy sentences to express affection in Ci. There are two hundreds and sixty six pieces of Ou-yang Xiu’s Ci in QuanSongCi, and his style of Ci is affected by Huajianci and NanTangCi. Hence, his ci are mainly about AiqingCi.BeiSong had gradually made an economic prosperity after establishing a nation. Especially, SongTaizu had open a party and invited government officials and nobles, in order to enforce centrism. This kinds of favor on bureaucracy made a basement of SongCi. and Ou-yang Xiu was the first Ci writer in that century. As a result an abundance life made him be able to write Ci. Furthermore a relation with women was a motivation of writing AiqingCi. So, Ou-yang Xiu’s AqingCi was not a personal pleasure or decadent, but a offspring of bureaucratic elegance.
