Abstract

New Trend of 21st Century Chinese Social Stratum Differentiation Kwon, Yong-ok Chinese society experienced huge changes during the last 20 years since its reform opening. Among the changes, the stratum differentiation between social strata has been rapidly diffused beyond our conception. The experts prospect that the five to ten years from now will be a period of the most meaningful changes in the Chinese social reform history. Considering these situations it is very significant to investigate the Chinese social stratum differentiation of the present phase.The influences on political, economic, social, and cultural circles will be appeared differently because the faced position of every Chinese social stratum and the degree of seizing on social resources by every Chinese social stratum are different from stratum to stratum. It is easy to find that every Chinese social stratum contributes in development and change of the Chinese society in different forms by overcoming the obstacles faced by each social stratumBased on the above studies the author investigated the stratum differentiation of laboring class in chapter2 and discussed the phenomena of the stratum differentiation of middle class in chapter 3. The formation stage, class differentiation phenomena, and the developmental tendency of private enterprise stratum were studied in chapter 4. Finally, the subject on gulf between rich and poor in Chinese society was investigated in depth in chapter 5.
