Chinese cultural nationalism, from the form of concept to practice, was a product when the double crisis of nation and culture were produced because of the shock of external force. The national history and culture were considered as the core identity of a nation. Although Chinese cultural nationalism was considered as the conservatism in present study, it reflected a hope of pursuing modern nation and constructing a new national culture in Chinese material history, and it could treat the clash between Chinese culture and the western culture with a cultural polybasic attitude.
