목타르 루비스의 소설작품에 반영된 혁명과 리더십, 그리고 휴머니즘에 관한 고찰

Literature reflects reality of society. Literatures by Mochtar Lubis also reflects temporary social reality. Moctar Lubis, a journalist and writer, sharply observed temporary social matters such as revolution, leadership and humanism and used them as themes in his literatures. These social matters are fully reflected in his novels like Tidak Ada Esok, Jalan Tak Ada Ujung, Tanah Gersang, Senja di Jakarta, Harimau! Harimau!, Mau dan Cinta as well as expected to be an important theme and subject matter from fast to future. First, Moctar Lubis regards a meaning of revolution as liberty and equality which free from suppression and inequality under the Japanese and the Danish occupation in his novels. Second, he regards a meaning of leadership as not a method for power and interest of particular person and political party but an agency to pull the public benefit and happiness of nations while dissolving a social conflict. Humanism, the last, is to respect human value and human rights without any discrimination among national races, social positions, and social classes and to love human itself. Moctar Lubis suggests that Sadeli who is character in the his last novel Mau dan Cinta is his ideal model of upper mentioned three factors.
