신뢰 사회 구축을 위한 소통의 철학 정초 -하버마스의 포괄적 합리성 논의를 중심으로-

본 논고는 작금의 한국 사회를 분노 사회로 진단하고, 현상적으로 드러나는 분노 사회는 표면적인 것일 뿐 그 이면의 심층의 본질에는 ‘신뢰가 결핍된 사회’의 문제가 있다는 점에 주목한다. 논자는 심층의 문제를 해결하는 차원에서 ‘신뢰 회복 사회’를 구축하기 위한 철학적 토대를 정초하고자 한다. 철학적 토대를 구축하기 위해 논자는 하버마스의 포괄적 합리성 논의와 사회적 병리현상 개념 그리고 생활세계와 체계로 구분되는 그의 2단계 사회 이론을 검토한다. 하버마스의 비판사회이론에서는 두 가지 논제를 주요하게 다룬다. 첫째는 ‘포괄적 합리성으로서 생활세계의 합리성’ 논제이다. 둘째는 ‘체계에 앞서는 생활세계의 우선성’ 논제이다. 두 가지 논제를 다룬 후 한국 사회가 어떻게 신뢰 결핍 사회가 되었는지를 분석하며 유의미한 결론을 도출해 내고자 한다. 결론적으로, 논자는 20세기 후반부터 한국 사회에서 전개된 일면적인 정치 체제 변혁 운동이 지나치게 ‘법률 형식’에 의존하여 사회적 권리 투쟁을 추구했던 것에 ‘신뢰가 결핍된 사회’의 문제가 근본적으로 내재해 있었음을 주장한다.
Abstract
This paper diagnoses the recent Korean society as an angry society, and focuses on the fact that the angry society is only superficial phenomenon, and that the problem of a ‘society lacking trust’ is fundamentally inherent behind it. And in order to solve deep problems, the author seeks to establish a philosophical foundation for building a ‘trust recovery society’ at the social level. In order to build this philosophical foundation, the author reviews Habermas’ discussion of comprehensive rationality, the concept of social pathology, and his two stage social theory divided into life-world and system. In Habermas’s critical social theory, we mainly deal with two topics. The first is the thesis of ‘the rationality of the life-world as comprehensive rationality’. The second is the thesis of ‘the priority of the life-world over the system’. After exploring the two topics, the author analyzes how Korean society became a ‘society lacking trust’ and attempts to draw meaningful conclusions. In conclusion, the author argues that the problem of a ‘society lacking trust’ is fundamentally inherent in the one-sided political system reform movement that has developed in Korean society since the late 20th century, relying too much on ‘legal forms’ to pursue ideology and social rights struggles.
