The term Mimananihonhu or Nihonhu appears, except one place, only in “Kinmeiki” in Nihonshoki. Thus the historical status of it should be judged from the political context in the local area of east Asia and Korea-Japan in the middle of 6th-century. But discussions in previous studies on it have not made enough from this viewpoint. Recently in Japan, changes in the orientation of studies on it can be found--changes toward the importance of the identity and position of Kaya Kingdom in east Asia. The crux in such orientation is the evaluations of realities of the “transmitter” which connects royal powers in the local area. With such key words as sea and language, this study analyses Mimananihonhu focusing on the transmitter between the political groups of Korea and Japan which are separated by the sea and have different languages.
