본고는 물질문화, 정신문화, 대중문화, 그리고 제도상 문화의 관점에서 개항장(조약항) 후의 톈진(천진)의 도시 문화의 변화를 검토할 것이다. 물질문화는 도시 풍경의 변화, 서양스타일의 건축물, 수돗물, 배수시설, 조명 그리고 가스와 같은 진보된 시의 시설물을 의미했다. 정신문화는 새로운 스타일의 신문, 새로운 학교의 설립과 여성교육의 신장을 의미했다. 대중문화는 인기 있는 종교의 변화와 일상생활 방식의 현대화를 의미했다. 제도상 문화의 변화는 여기서는 경찰 조직과 공중위생 시설의 설립을 의미했다. 도시문화의 변화는 문화적 현대화의 과정이었다.
Abstract
The author mainly discussed the transformation of urban culture in Tianjin after Treaty Port in terms of material culture, spiritual culture, popular culture and institutional culture.The material culture implied the change of city landscape, the construction of buildings with western styles, the introduction of advanced municipal facilities such as tap water, drainage, light and gas. The spiritual culture meant the introduction of new style of newspapers, the establishment of new schools and the growth of women education. The popular culture meant the the change of popular religion and the modernization of mode of daily life. The transformation of institutional culture here meant the establishment of systems of police and public sanitation. The transformation of urban culture was the process of cultural modernization.
