영유아 보육과 교육의 질적인 수준을 높이기 위해서는 변화하고 있는 오늘의 시대 사회적 상황을 고려하는 것이 필요하다. 이 논문은 현재 어린이가 어떤 삶의 맥락에 놓여 있는지를 분석함과 더불어, 학문 분야의 하나로서 영유아 보교육과정을 어떤 방식으로 개념화할 것인지를 논하고 있다. 나아가서 영유아 보교육과정 담론의 지평을 넓히기 위해서는 영유아 보교육과정에 대한 이해, 사회문화적 맥락에 적합한 텍스트의 구성, 영유아 보교육과정 담론의 다양화 등이 이루어져야 한다는 점을 제안하고 있다.
Abstract
In order to improve the quality of early childhood care and education in Korea, it is imperative to seriously consider current social/economic conditions. This article explores the social/economic conditions prevailing for children in today's Korea in terms of how those conditions can be taken into account in the conceptualization of early childhood as a field of study. Furthermore, this article asserts that discourse on such an integrated conception of early childhood curriculum as well as the composition of texts conforming to sociocultural context and the diversification of the current early childhood curriculum are much needed to expand the discussion on curriculum for early childhood care and education.
