초록

This study analyzed the poems about Pyongyang written by envoys from Ming dynasty and drew a conclusion that they effected the cultural images of Pyongyang in late Joseon dynasty. Two aspects of them are entertainment venue and the place of Gija joseon. And they had rarely been showed compared with before envoys visited Pyongyang. Originally Pyongyang was recognized as old capital of Ancient Chosun and Goguryeo, therefore writers of poetry who visited Pyongyang generally wrote on historical themes and recalled the history. However, the situation had altered a lot after envoys from Ming visited Joseon. Because Pyongyang is the place where they passed through, they went sightseeing in Pyongyang and composed poems. And their poems are about its beautiful landscape, a boat excursion and the tourist attractions with gisaengs and musical accompaniment. Also they made effort to find chinese influences, and seeking Gija's remains is representative of that. With supreme status of envoys from china, their poems were published in the town chronicles of Pyongyang. They went current and had a big impact on changing the cultural imaged of Pyongyang.
