‘선생님-엄마’ 삶의 감응적 글쓰기 : 한 영유아 교사와 딸의 내부 작용

본 연구의 목적은 한 영유아 교사와 딸의 내부 작용을 ‘선생님-엄마’ 삶의 감응적 글쓰기를 통해 드러냄으로써, 교사이며 엄마로서의 한 여성의 삶이 사회적 지평으로 연결되는 여정과 의미를 영유아 교사의 존재론적 관점으로 들여다보는 데 있다. 이를 위하여 자문화기술지 질적 연구 방법을 활용한 감응적 글쓰기를 통해 연구자의 삶을 드러내었다. 연구 결과 첫째, 영유아 교사였던 나는 ‘선생님’이라는 존재에서, 낯선 신비함과 농도 짙은 숭고한 기쁨을 느끼는 ‘엄마’로 호명되는 존재로 다시 태어나는 삶을 겪었다. 둘째, ‘선생님’ VS ‘엄마’로 대결하며 내(선생님)가 나(엄마)를 평가하는 파편적인 삶 속에서 답을 내릴 수 없는 삶의 질문에 마주쳤고, 슈퍼우먼이 되려고 발버둥 치면서도 스스로 실격과 낙제점을 주는 흔들리며 휘둘리는 삶을 살았다. 셋째, 연구자인 ‘선생님-엄마’를 품어주는 딸의 삶으로 인해 서로에게 감응하며 미안한 슬픔에서 감사한 기쁨으로 회절 되어 삶에 몰입하게 되었다. 넷째, 삶의 근력이 생성한 안목으로 타인과 사회가 구성한 담론을 뛰어넘고, ‘선생님-엄마’ 고유의 방식으로 삶을 긍정하며 딸과 함께 나아가게 되었다. 이 연구의 결과는 일과 양육을 병행하는 사회 속 여성으로서의 영유아 교사가 겪게 되는 경험이, 좋은 엄마 되기라는 모성 담론의 지배에서 벗어나 자기 삶을 통해 힘을 기르고, 나름의 고유한 방식으로 삶의 방향을 긍정하며 나아가는 주체적인 존재로 성장하는 데 하나의 관점을 제공할 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
The aim of this study is to reveal the inter-action of an early childhood teacher and her daughter through affective writing of a 'teacher-mom' life, thereby looking into the journey and meaning of a woman's life as a teacher and mom leading social horizons from the ontological perspective of an early childhood teacher. To do so, the life of the researcher was disclosed through affective writing using the qualitative research method of autoethnography. The results of this research were as follows. Firstly, I, who was an early childhood teacher, went through a life of reborn as a being a 'mom' who felt unfamiliar mystery and deeply noble joy. Secondly, while competing with myself as 'a teacher' versus 'a mom', I confronted the question of life that I could not answer in a fragmented life, in which I (teacher) evaluated me (mom), and I struggled to become a superwoman. But I lived an unsteady and swayed life with disqualification and a failing grade. Thirdly, due to the life of my daughter who embraced this researcher who is a 'teacher-mom' and by emotionally responding to each other, I was diffracted from sorry-sadness to grateful-joy and immersed in the life. Fourthly, with the perspective created by the strength of life, I went beyond the discourse constructed by others and society, and I moved forward with my daughter by affirming life in the unique way of 'teacher-mom'. The results of this study show that the experience of an early childhood teacher as a woman in the society who balances working while parenting, could provide a perspective on freeing women from the dominance of maternal discourse of becoming a good mom, affirming the direction of life in their own, and growing into independent beings in unique ways.
