음성 수정산성은 통일신라시대에 축조되어 고려시대까지 운용된 석축산성으로서, 역사‧문화적으로 중요한 위치를 차지하고 있는 문화유산이다. 본고는 음성 수정산성의 활용 방안을 수립하기 위하여 수정산성과 주변 문화재 현황을 검토하였고, 나아가 여러 지역에서 활용되고 있는 성곽문화재와 비교‧분석하였다. 이를 바탕으로 수정산성의 위치와 역사‧문화적 가치, 주변 자연환경, 지역민의 수요 등이 서로 조화를 이룰 수 있도록 활용의 필요성과 방향을 수립하였다. 그 결과, 음성 수정산성 자체의 생태관광적 활용 방안과 수정산성과 음성읍내의 여러 역사문화 자원을 연계한 ‘역사문화 둘레길’의 조성이라는 역사문화관광적 활용 방안을 제시할 수 있었다. 특히 역사문화 둘레길은 음성의 역사와 문화에 쉽게 접근할 수 있게 하고, 경제 활성화의 효과도 기대할 수 있는 바, 수정산성 활용의 범위를 확장했다는 점에서 그 의미가 크다. 이와 같이 본고에서 제시한 음성 수정산성의 활용 방안이 음성군을 역사와 문화, 관광의 도시로 한 걸음 나아가는 계기가 되길 바란다.
Abstract
Eumseong Sujeong Mountain Fortress was built during the Unified Silla Period and operated until the Goryeo Dynasty. It is a cultural heritage that occupies an important historical and cultural position. In order to establish the plan to utilize Eumseong Sujeong Mountain Fortress, this paper reviewed the current status of Sujeong Mountain Fortress and surrounding cultural assets, and further compared and analyzed it with the fortress cultural assets used in various regions. Based on this, the necessity and direction of utilization were established to harmonize the location of Sujeong Mountain Fortress, its historical and cultural value, the surrounding natural environment, and the needs of local residents. In consequence, it was possible to suggest a plan for utilizing Eumseong Sujeong Mountain Fortress itself for ecotourism and a plan for utilizing it for historical and cultural tourism such as the creation of the 'Yeoksa-Munhwa Dulle-gil(Historical and cultural trail)' linking Sujeong Mountain Fortress and various historical and cultural resources in Eumseong-eup. Especially, the ‘Yeoksa-Munhwa Dulle-gil(Historical and cultural trail)’ is significant in that it expands the scope of the use of Sujeong Mountain Fortress as it enables easy access to the history and culture of Eumseong and can also expect the effect of revitalizing the economy. As such, it is hoped that the utilization plan of Eumseong Sujeong Mountain Fortress presented in this paper will serve as an opportunity to take a step forward as a city of history, culture, and tourism in Eumseong-gun.
