전문계 고등학교 3학년 학생들의 입시경험에 관한 현상학적 연구

본 연구는 진학률이 취업률을 훨씬 상회하는 전문계 고등학교의 현실 속에서 전문계고 3학년 학생들의 대학입시 경험을 현상학적으로 이해하는 데 주된 목적이 있었다. 11명의 연구 참여자를 심층 면담한 후, Colaizzi의 현상학적 자료 분석방법에 의해 이들의 대학입시 경험을 들여다 본 결과, 삶의 기본전제로서의 대학, 불안과 임기응변, 자족과 소외, 진로고민과 현실과의 타협, 비상시도, 공교육에 대한 불만이라는 6가지 주제로 정리할 수 있었으며, 이러한 결과에 기초해 전문적인 진로지도 및 진로상담, 교육결과의 균등화 노력, 전문계고 역량강화의 필요성에 대해 논의하였다.
Abstract
This study sought mainly to better understand the experiences of the university entrance examination undertaken by vocational high school seniors through a phenomenological lens, within the present context of the university entrance rate outnumbering the number of available jobs. Following depth‐interviews with the 11 study participants and analysis of the data using Colaizzi’s phenomenological, their experiences were summarized as follows: a university degree is seen as a basic premise for life, anxiety and temporary expedient, self‐satisfaction and alienation, difficulties within their careers and compromises with reality, attempts at elevating themselves, complaints about the quality of public education. Based on our findings, this study went on to discuss the need for more specialized career guidance and ongoing career consultations, greater efforts aimed at equalization of educational outcomes, and strengthening the capability of vocational high schools.
