초기 청소년의 생활시간 잠재프로파일 분류: 정서 및 대인관계 요인의 영향력과 가상세계지향성 차이 검증

초록

본 연구의 목적은 청소년이 생활시간을 활용하는 양상에 따라 하위집단을 분류하고, 가상세계지향성에 집단별 차이가 있는지 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 한국 아동․청소년 패널조사 2018의 중1 패널 2차 자료를 활용해 중학교 2학년 2,438명을 대상으로 잠재프로파일을 도출하고, 잠재프로파일별로 가상세계지향성 평균에 유의미한 차이가 있는지 확인하였다. 한편, 본 연구에서는 부가적으로 Davis(2001)가 제시한 인지행동 모형을 기초로 하여 부적응적 심리 요인과 사회적관계 특성이 생활시간 활용 잠재프로파일에 영향을 미치는지 검증하였다. 분석 결과, 학생들은 생활시간 활용에 따라 세 가지 잠재프로파일로 구분되었다. 프로파일의 특성에 따라 “균형 시간활용”, “사교육 위주 시간활용”, “자유로운 시간활용”으로 프로파일을 명명하였다. 또한 관련 요인들의 영향력 검증 결과 사회적관계인 부모관계, 친구관계, 교사관계가 유의한 효과를 보였다. 그러나 본 연구에서 부적응적 심리를 반영하는 요인인 자아존중감과 사회적위축은 잠재프로파일 분류에 영향을 미치지 못했다. 마지막으로, 잠재프로파일별로 가상세계지향성 차이는 모두 유의하게 나타났다. 본 연구는 청소년의 생활시간 활용을 중심으로 온라인에 의존하는 성향인 가상세계지향 경향성에 차이가 있는지, 이에 영향을 미치는 요인들이 생활시간 활용 양상에도 영향을 미치는지를 밝혔다. 본 연구를 통해 비대면 시대를 살아가는 청소년들이 보다 바람직한 사회관계를 구축할 수 있도록 효과적으로 개입하는 데 시사점을 제시할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to categorize a group of adolescents into several latent subgroups regarding their daily time use patterns, and to examine whether or not there exists statistically significant differences in relation to the level of virtual reality orientation among the latent profiles. For the purpose of the study, the latent profiles of 2,438 participants taken from the second year in middle school from Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey were analyzed, and the differences in the mean level of virtual reality orientation between the latent profiles were examined. Additionally, based on the cognitive-behavioral model adopted by Davis(2001), the relationships between psychosocial factors and the latent profiles were also investigated. As a result, the students were eventually grouped into three latent profiles. Our results revealed that social relationships such as parents, friends, and teachers have significant effects on the latent profile classification; however, self-esteem and social withdrawal that may reflect maladaptive psychological behavior, did not affect the classification process. Lastly, significant differences in virtual reality orientation were observed among the latent profiles.
