본 연구는 중․고령 근로자의 과거 실직경험이 실직이후의 일자리 경로에 미치는 영향을 분석했다. 재취업 위험모형 및 미취업 위험모형을 설정하고 이에 대해 임의효과 프로빗 분석을 한 결과를 살펴보았다. 성별로 분류하여 분석을 시도하였는데 남성과 여성 모두 비자발적인 실직경험은 미취업 상태에 있는 근로자가 취업상태로 전환될 확률을 증가시키는 효과가 있었으며, 취업상태에 있는 근로자가 미취업상태로 전환될 확률을 증가시켰다. 그러나 그 효과는 남성에게서 더 크게 나타났다. 분석결과가 중․고령 노동시장에 주는 함의는 다음과 같다. 중․고령 근로자의 실직경험은 고령 근로자의 은퇴시기를 늦추고 오랫동안 노동시장에 머물게 하는 효과를 주는 것으로 생각된다. 그러나 고령노동자가 실직 이후 재취업한 일자리는 불안정한 일자리일 가능성이 크고, 그 결과 실직을 경험한 이후 재취업한 고령 근로자는 다시 실직을 경험할 가능성이 큰 것으로 생각된다.
Abstract
This paper explores the effect of displacement on the dynamics of employment that older workers experience. We set a hazard model for getting back to work after displacement and another for losing job after reemployment. For each subgroup divided by sex, we then estimate the effect of displacement on employment transition using a random probit model. The results show that older workers who have experienced displacement are more likely to return to work. Moreover, older workers who were displaced in their previous jobs are more likely to lose their jobs after reemployment. These results imply that displacement in their previous jobs makes older workers delay their retirement and continue to work. However, job security in the post displacement job is likely to decrease. As a result, reemployed older workers have a high possibility to lose their jobs.
