젤 네일 색차 분석을 통한 퍼스널 컬러 사계절 타입 분류 연구

Abstract

This study conducted a comprehensive analysis of 100 nail colors from the Korean brand ‘Bandi’ by applying the practical color coordinate system (PCCS) and the CIE L*a*b* color space. Each color was quantified using Adobe Photoshop 24.7.2, allowing for objective comparison across color dimensions. The analysis classified the nail colors into ten groups: red, yellow red, yellow, green, blue, purple, red purple, brown, neutral, and purple blue. High-lightness colors (L* ≥ 80) were most prevalent in the yellow, blue, and purple groups. On the a* axis, red showed the highest values, while yellow red displayed wide variability. On the b* axis, yellow and yellow red recorded the highest values, in clear contrast to blue. To verify validity, ΔE*ab values were compared with 120 PCCS standard colors. Eight nail colors fell within ΔE*ab ≤ 5, with five closely matching the PCCS standards. Based on these results, a four-season personal color palette was proposed: No. 82 for spring and No. 97 for winter were retained, No. 62 for summer was adjusted, and No. 99 for autumn was modified. This study confirms the applicability of personal color theory to nail color planning and demonstrates its potential extension to broader cosmetic product development and design.
