응급상황 음성을 통한 성별간의 발화행태 특성 분석

일상생활에서 의사소통은 가장 기본적인 수단으로 그 대상과 목적에 따라 발화자의 발화행태는 상이하게 나타나게된다. 이러한 의사소통에서 가장 중요한 수단은 발화자가 발성하는 음성으로, 이 음성에는 언어적 정보뿐만 아니라, 비언어적 정보도 함께 나타난다. 본 논문의 목적은 상황적 특수성을 가지는 응급신고센터의 음성데이터 분석을 통하여 성별간의 나타나는 비언어적 발화행태 특성을 확인하고자 한다. 총 340개의 음성데이터를 분석한 결과, 3가지발화행태인 간투어, 간섭, 장음화의 발생유무는 성별간의 유의한 차이를 확인하였다. 하지만 분당평균발생횟수에서간섭과 장음화는 성별간의 유의한 차이가 있는 반면, 간투어는 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 이와 더불어, 간섭과 장음화는 발화행태간의 상관관계가 있음을 확인하였다. 종합적으로 간섭은 남성, 장음화는 여성의 발화행태 특성이라 할 수 있다. 이러한 결과는 음성 주파수 분석 혹은 언어적 특성에만 집중하던 기존연구 및 응급상황 시스템 기술 개발에 새로운 기초자료가 될 수 있다.
Abstract
Communication is an important tool in social relationships. Speech utterances such as verbal and non-verbal action are frequently used during a communication. In a verbal communication, the speaker’s voice provides cues that present the intention and purpose of communication. This study aimed to investigate gender differences in non-verbal cues such as fillers, overlapping, and lengthening. We hypothesized that non-verbal cues of speech utterances in communication are different between genders. We analyzed 340 speech data and came up with two results. The occurrence of three non-verbal cues was significantly different between genders. In particular, the mean of occurrence frequency in overlapping and lengthening was significantly different between genders, but no significant results in fillers. Additionally, overlapping and lengthening more obviously depend on the mean of occurrence frequency than fillers. Consequently, our results suggest that overlapping and lengthening are important non-verbal cues of speech utterances to differentiate genders, but not fillers. Our findings might provide new insight for voice-based gender classification, and cues for recent research that have focused on voice spectral analysis and verbal analysis of the gender classification.
