Antifungal Activity of Chlororinated Bibenzyl Compound on the Dermatophytic Fungus Trichophyton mentagrophytes

Abstract
The chlororinated bibenzyl compound (1) inhibited the growth of the Gram positive bacterium Bacillus subtilis ATCC 19659, (2 mm inhibition zone at 30 μg/disc), Candida albicans ATCC 14053, (2 mm inhibition zone at 30 μg/disc), and the dermatophytic fungus Trichophyton mentagrophytes ATCC 28185, (3 mm inhibition zone at 30 μg/disc).
