연구목적: 본 연구는 장애인직업재활시설 종사자들의 고령 발달장애 근로자 지원에 대한 인식과 이들을 지원하는 과정에서 안고 있는 딜레마를 심도 있게 탐색하여 실천적⋅정책적 함의를 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구방법: 장애인직업재활시설 종사자 15명을 대상으로 초점집단면접조사(FGI)를 실시하였으며, 주제 분석을 통해 자료를 분석하였다. 연구결과: 장애인직업재활시설 종사자들의 고령 발달장애 근로자 지원에 대한 인식과 딜레마는 ‘무방비한 상태에서 마주한 발달장애 근로자의 노화’, ‘직업재활과 돌봄 간의 허물어진 경계’, ‘고용유지를 위한 조정 노력’, ‘은퇴 이후 갈 곳 없는 현실 속에서 풀리지 않는 고민’의 4개 주제와 13개 소주제로 도출되었다. 결론: 연구결과를 토대로 고령 발달장애 근로자의 건강하고 활기찬 노화를 촉진하기 위해 종사자의 지식과 실천기술 역량강화 교육, 조기노화 및 노인성 질환 예방 및 건강관리서비스, 은퇴전환지원 프로그램(TTRP), 고령 발달장애인 주간활동서비스가 필요함을 제안하였다
Abstract
Purpose: This study aims to explore staff perceptions and dilemmas of supporting employees with developmental disabilities in sheltered workshops. Method: Focus group interviews with 15 staff were conducted and interview data was thematically analyzed. Results: Staff perceptions and dilemmas of supporting ageing employees with developmental disabilities were identified as four major themes of 'facing the ageing process of employees with development disabilities without preparation’, ‘a broken boundary between vocational rehabilitation and care’, ‘making adjustments to maintain employment’ and ‘unresolved dilemmas in the reality of nowhere to go after retirement’ and 13 sub-themes. Conclusion: The findings of this study suggest the need for enhancing staff training to improve knowledge and skills in supporting ageing employees with developmental disabilities, health care services for premature aging and ageing-related diseases, transition to retirement program(TTRP) and day activity services that are tailored to promote the healthy and active ageing of older adults with developmental disabilities.
