칼 바르트 초기신학 속 하나님 나라와 사회주의 담론의 변화에 대한 연구

초록

초기 자펜빌 시기에 바르트는 사회주의 이론들이 실현될 수 있으며 이를 통해 현실 자본주의의 모순을 극복할 수 있다는 생각을 했었다. 나아가 그는 하나님 나라의 운동과 사회주의 운동의 내적 연관성을 확신하고 있었다. 하지만 제1차 세계대전의 발발과 함께 바르트는 이념으로서의 사회주의적 이상과 현실 체제로의 사회주의 사이의 괴리를 인식하기 시작했고 현실 사회주의에 대한 신학적 비판들이 등장하게 된다. 이와 함께 그의 신학에서 급진적 사회주의와 급진적 기독교에 대한 담론이 중요한 역할을 감당하게 되고 이후 사회주의 운동을 뛰어넘는 하나님 나라 운동에 대한 담론으로 발전하게 된다. 급진적 사회주의와 급진적 기독교, 하나님 나라 운동에 대한 새로운 이해는 제1차 세계대전을 막지 못한 채 자본주의적 군국주의에 굴복한 기존의 사회주의운동과 제도와 전통으로서의 기독교에 대한 신랄한 비판들을 기반으로 한다. 바르트는 변증법적 신학 시기(1922−1931)부터 자펜빌 시기(1911-1921)와 달리 분명하게 종교사회주의를 적극적으로 표명하지 않았다. 그러나 급진적 기독교와 기존 기독교에 대한 비판이 곧 예수의 복음에 대한 부정이 아니듯 사회주의 운동을 뛰어넘는 하나님 나라 운동에 대한 담론이 곧 사회민주주의 이념과의 절대적 단절, 특히 사회주의적 자본주의비판의 부정을 의미하는 것은 아님을 바르트의 ‘사회주의 연설들’은 잘 보여준다.

Abstract

In the early phase of Safenwil, Barth thought that Theories of Socialism can be realized, and he had the idea that the contradictions of real capitalism can be overcome by it. And, moreover, he was convinced of the inner connection between the movement of the kingdom of God and the socialistic movement. But with the outbreak of the First World War, Barth began to recognize the gap between socialistic ideal as ideology and socialism as real system, and theological critiques about real socialism started to emerge. In addition, the discourse on the radical Socialism and the radical Christianity played an important role in his theology. The discourse developed to the discourse on the movement of the kingdom of God which can overcome the socialistic movement. The radical Socialism and radical Christianity, a new understanding of the movement of the kingdom of God, are based on severe critiques about the socialistic movement and the Christianity, which succumbed to capitalistic militarism, as they were unable to stop the First World War. In his dialectical phase(1922-1931), Barth did not actively express about the Religious Socialism in otherwise of his early phase of Safenwil. However, his “Socialist Speeches” shows well that the discourse about the movement of the Kingdom of God, which can overcome the socialistic movement, doesn't mean a absolute rupture with the social democracy like the radical Christianity and the critiques about the existing Christianity don't mean a denial of the gospel of Jesus.
