This study which is made up of five chapters, deals with the theology of the Holy Spirit by Rev. D.D. Yune Sun Park who was born in a farming village in Pyonbuk Province in Korea on December 11, 1905. On June 30, 1988, this Calvinist joined the Lord in heaven. He was a teacher and leader of the Korean Church, as well as a servant who ministered the Word of God with much prayer. Chapter 2 deals with the Trinitarian pneumatology and the Christocentric-applied pneumatology taught by Yune Sun Park. His pneumatology is anchored in his teaching on the Trinity. In his teaching on the Trinity, he holds fast to Scriptures and the traditional formula ‘one Substance, three Persons.’(una substantia, tres personae) He opposed the antitrinitarians(Sabellius and Arius). There is the double relation between the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ. He describes the Holy Spirit as having divine priority over against Jesus and Jesus as the bearer of the Spirit. In Paul and John, however, another relation between the Holy Spirit and Christ is dominant. Here Jesus is not so much the bearer of the Spirit as he is the sender of the Spirit. Chapter 3 deals with two works of the Holy Spirit. Yune Sun Park makes a distinction between the general work and the specific work of the Holy Spirit. For him the Holy Spirit is the ‘effector’ of Creation, of providence and of redemption(Christians and Church). Chapter 4 deals with the relation between the Holy Spirit and the consummation seen by Yune sun Park. In the work of the Holy Spirit the consummation begins. The Holy Spirit makes us long for the consummation. The Holy Spirit is the first fruits and the guarantee of the future. We know that the whole creation has been groaning in travail together now. And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. The theology of the Holy Spirit seen by Yune Sun Park is rooted in Scriptures and the Reformed thoughts.
