본 연구의 목적은 신학에 있어서 ‘종교적 경험과 믿음이 갖는 관계성의 의미’를, 무엇보다 조직신학적 측면에서 드러내는데 있다. 오늘날 한국교회 현실을 들여다보면, 목회자를 포함하여 대부분의 그리스도인들은 종교적 경험, 혹은 체험을 성령의 초자연적 은사와 관련시켜 방언과 신유의 은사 같은 신비적이고 기적적인 현상에서만 이해하려는 왜곡된 경향을 보여주고 있다. 종교적 경험에 대한 그런 편협한 이해는 신앙의 본질과 건강성을 크게 훼손시킨다. 따라서 종교적 경험을 무엇보다 믿음과 관련시키는 신학적 정립이 시급한 실정이다. 본 주제의 선행연구에 대한 필자의 조사에 따르면, ‘종교적 경험과 믿음의 관계성’에 관한 신학적 연구는 독일을 중심으로 유럽에서는 이미 오래 전부터 다양하고 광범위하게 진행되어왔다. 반면에 국내에서는 실천신학과 기독교 윤리신학에서만 단편적이거나 미미한 수준으로 소개되었을 뿐, 조직신학에서는 소개조차 제대로 이루어지지 않는 실정이다. 따라서 종교적 경험 혹은 체험이 기독교 신앙에 어떤 가치와 의미를 지니고 있는지를 신학적으로 새롭게 밝혀야 하는 의무감과 책임감이 본 연구를 하게 한 또 다른 배경이다. 그런 배경을 바탕으로 이 분야에 탁월한 신학사상을 제공해 주는 존 칼빈과 마르틴 켈러를 중심으로 신학적 경험이해의 지평을 넓혀 나갈 것이다. 본 연구는 다음과 같은 목차로 구성되어 있다. 1장은 ‘서론’이며, 2장은 ‘믿음과 경험의 관계성에 관한 조직신학적 이해’이며, 그리고 마지막 3장은 ‘결론’이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to study 'the meaning of the relationship between religious experience and faith in systematic theology'. 'Experience' is not only one of the crucial factors that define characteristics of postmodernism, but also an important subject that could not be ignored in the area of religion. The experience of Christian theology, however, has no meaning by itself, but it must be related with faith. Because experience motivates to grow faith of oneself, sustain and has a crucial role to develop it. It is quite important to feel the love of God and His works vividly in the world we live in with following reasons. "God reveals Himself in specific historical acts where people can experience directly in their lives." In other words, God want His reality to be experienced in our realities. If theology defined the interpretation of the reality of God and the reality of the world, it gives a new perspective for various formats of religious expression. In addition, it is related to the context to recognize reality of God and the world and might be an attempt to give direction to the future. Therefore, the following questions can be asked. What kinds of experiences are dealt with in the world we live in, how these experiences can be properly expressed regard to theological ideas, especially with the ideas of faith. If God want to reveal Himself in the historical moments, what are the roles and meanings for individual context of history. The answers can be found from various aspects, but this study focuses on the theological side, so the answers may possible be applied to the reality of theology and churches of Korea.
