한철하 박사와 속사도 교부: ‘사도의 전승’과 디오그네투스 서신

이 논문은 한철하 박사의 신학과 사상을 고려하면서, 앞으로 후학들이 나아갈 방향을 모색하는 것을 목적으로 할 것이다. 본 논문은 앞부분에서 ‘중심 진리’에 대한 한철하 박사의 견해, 그리고 속사도 교부들이 이러한 중심 진리를 이어받고 있다는 한철하 박사의 견해를 고려한다. 그리고 이러한 한철하 박사의 견해가 하르낙, 바우어와 어만 등의 견해와 다르다는 것을 고려할 것이다. 특히 속사도 문헌의 경우 이것이 ‘사도의 전승’에서 비롯된 것인지 혹은 ‘사도의 전승’에서 이탈 혹은 퇴보하여 ‘헬라화’된 것인지 고려할 필요가 있다. 이 점에 관하여 우리는 『디오그네투스 서신』을 하나의 샘플로 고려할 것이다. 『디오그네투스 서신』은 신약성경과의 차이점을 분명히 보여주지만, 아마도 문헌의 저자는 적어도 요한복음과 바울 서신을 알고 있었고, 사용하고 있는 흔적을 우리는 발견한다. 그리고 우리는 사도의 전승인 내어줌의 공식을 그의 문헌에서 언급하고, 요한과 바울의 가르침을 조화롭게 이해하고 있다는 것을 고려할 것이다. 『디오그네투스 서신』은 한 분 하나님께서 창조자와 구속자이시라는 것에 분명한 강조점을 두고 있다. 이 점은 『디오그네투스 서신』이 마르시온주의와 구분된다는 점을 암시한다. 이러한 점에서 『디오그네투스 서신』이 어떤 측면에서 ‘사도의 전승’을 충실하게 이어받고 있는 흔적을 우리는 발견한다. 그렇다면 ‘사도의 전승’과 ‘속사도문헌’의 연속성을 강조한 한철하 박사의 견해는 긍정될 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
In this paper, we will consider some aspects of Chul-Ha Han’s theology, inter alia, his view on the Apostolic Fathers. In the earlier part of this study, we will investigate Han’s opinion that the Apostolic Fathers inherited ‘the apostolic paradosis’ or so-called “the central truth.” As a test case, we will explore as to whether Epistle to Diognetus was seceded from the Pauline tradition. In particular, it is argued that, whilst Diog. contains some distinctiveness from the New Testament, the author of Diog. was aware of the Gospel according to John and a certain form of Pauline corpus, and so he could use them in Diog. (pace Harnack, Bauer and Ehrman). The author of Diog. preserves ‘the formula of surrender’ as Paul did, and synthesizes the teachings of John and Paul in harmony, and highlights in balance that God is the creator and redeemer. This is also evocative of some disparity from Marcion (pace Abraham van de Beek) and so Diog. signals some continuity with ‘the Apostolic paradosis’ (esp. John and Paul). Whereas Harnack claims that the Pauline tradition did not make a deep impact on the second-century Christianity before Irenaeus of Lyon, Han’s perspective can be affirmed by the fact that Diog. is indicative of some Pauline tradition.
