일반 계시에 대한 소론: 바르트와 고재수 그리고 바빙크를 중심으로

바르트와 브루너의 자연신학에 대한 논쟁은 일반계시와 관련한 중요한 논쟁이었다. 당시의 시대적인 상황에서는 바르트의 주장도 전적으로 틀렸다고는 할 수 없지만 일반계시와 관련한 바르트의 주장은 브루너의 주장에 비해 지나친 주장이었다는 평가를 할 수 밖에 없다. 바르트가 일반계시를 전면적으로 부정했다면 고재수는 개혁신학의 전통을 따라 일반계시를 인정하고 있다. 하지만 고재수는 특별계시에 비해 일반계시는 고정된 것이며 하나님과 하나님의 율법에 대한 것으로 일반계시를 제한하고 있다. 그리고 북미주개혁교회 보고서에 대한 비판 가운데 자연과학의 올바른 연구결과라 하더라도 계시로 취급해서는 안된다고 주장하고 있다. 그런가하면 벌코프와 바빙크는 일반계시의 가치에 대해 보다 긍정적이며 자연과학의 결과를 일반계시적인 차원에서 수용할 것을 주장하고 있다. 고재수의 주장도 나름의 일관성을 가진 주장이라고 할 수 있지만 적어도 자신의 주장을 정당화하기 위해 바빙크를 인용하고 있는 부분은 정당하지 않다는 평가를 할 수 밖에 없을 것이다.
Abstract
The debate between Barth and Brunner on natural theology was an important debate concerning general revelation. In the circumstances of the time, Barth’s argument was not entirely wrong, but it can only be evaluated that Barth’s argument concerning general revelation was excessive compared to Brunner’s. If Barth denied general revelation altogether, Ko Jae-su recognizes general revelation following the tradition of Reformed theology. However, Ko Jae-su has a fixed notion of general revelation compared to special revelation, and limits general revelation as it is about God and God’s law. And to criticise Christan Reformed Church of North American report, he argues that even the correct research results of natural sciences should not be treated as a revelation. On the other hand, Berkhof and Bavinck were more positive about the value of general revelation and insist on accepting the results of natural sciences on the level of general revelation. Though Ko Jae-soo’s argument can be said to have its own consistency, but at least the part of citing Bavinck’s to justify his argument have to be evaluated as unjustified.
