오픈 소스 소프트웨어는 소스 코드에 대한 접근, 재배포, 파생 저작물작성 등을 허용하는 라이선스와 함께 배포되는 소프트웨어이다. 최근 많은 기업들이 제품 또는 서비스 제공 측면에서 OSS를 이용하고 있다. 글로벌 컨설팅 전문 기업 엑센추어의 조사에 따르면 오픈 소스를 기반으로 개발한 제품은 시간과 비용 모두 50퍼센트까지 단축시킬 수 있다고 한다. 오픈 소스 방법을 통해 테스팅과 오류 수정을 진행해서 상품 개발비를 대폭 줄이는 것이 가능하며, 오픈 소스의 유통망을 이용해 더 쉽게 넓은 시장으로 진출도 가능하다. 하지만, OSS 비즈니스 모델을 선택할 때 비즈니스 모델에 대한 표준 분류가 이루어 지지 않아 체계적인 분류 방법이 모호하여, 초기비용 감소와 기업의 특성을 살리는 커스터마이징이 힘들다. 본 연구에서는 분류 프레임워크를 통해 다양한 비즈니스 모델을 비교하고 제시한 기준을 통해 평가하고자 한다. 평가 기준으로 제품과 서비스를 선택하였고, OSS와 상용소프트웨어를 구분해 프레임워크를 구성하였다. 본 연구에서 제안한 프레임워크를 이용해 다양한 OSS 비즈니스 모델을 분류해서 경영 의사 결정과정에 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.
Abstract
Open Source Software, OSS, is distributed software with license what is access to source code, redistribution, and make derivation work. Many companies are using OSS product and/or provide service. According to Accenture, Global Consulting Company, OSS product is make shorten 50 percent time and cost. It is able to reduce product development price using OSS testing and mistake modification. Moreover, it possible to easy to enter wider market using OSS distribution network. However, when choose OSS business model, reduce initial development cost and make customizing using feature of company customizing is difficult because standard classification is ambiguous. In this paper, many business models compare themselves based on the taxonomy framework and will estimate the model. Valuation basis are product and service, make framework OSS and commercial software. I expect that the suggested framework would help to business decision process.
