전공계열에 따른 대학생의 문화성향, 도덕성, 정신건강 수준의 차이

본 연구는 대학생의 문화성향, 도덕성, 정신건강이 전공계열에 따라 차이가 발생하는지를 실증적으로 분석하기 위한 목적을 가지고 있다. 분석 대상은 D 도시의 이공계 및 인문계 대학생 350명에게 설문지를 배포하고 이에 응답한 총 323명을 대상으로 분석하였다. 설문은 개인문화성향 척도, 도덕성검사, 간이정신건강검사(symptom checklist-90-revision, SCL-90-R)를 포함하였다. 분석방법으로는 기술통계, 교차분석, 독립표본 t-test를 활용하였다. 주요 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 이공계열 학생의 경우 인문계열 학생에 비해 수직적 개인주의와 수직적 집단주의 성향이 모두 통계적으로 유의한 수준에서 높게 나타났다. 또한 인문계열 학생이 이공계열 학생에 비해 도덕성 5단계 점수가 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 이공계열 학생의 우울, 불안, 적대감, 편집증 점수가 인문계열 학생에 비해 통계적으로 유의한 수준에서 낮게 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과는 대학생들을 대상으로 전공 특성에 부합하는 진로 지도가 필요함을 시사하고 있다.
Abstract
The primary purpose of this study was to analyze the difference of cultural disposiotion, morality, and psychological health level according to the major of university students. We analysed the data of 323 participants that had answered the questionnaire among 350 students of a university located in D city requested to answer the questionnaire to examine whether there were the differences of cultural disposition, morality, and the level of mental health between science or engineering majors or humanities majors. The questionnaire included the horizontal and vertical dimensions of individualism and collectivism, the defining issues test, and symptom checklist-90-revision (SCL-90-R). Science or engineering majors showed higher level of vertical individualism and vertical collectivism, and lower level of the scores for stage 5 morality, depression, anxiety, hostility, and paranoid than humanities majors. Our results suggest the necessity to guide university students for career direction in accordance with individual college majors.
