옛이야기에 나타난 아버지 부재의 영향에 대한 연구 -‘바리데기’ 이야기를 중심으로

옛이야기는 모든 시대와 문화, 민족에게 공통적으로 내려오는 원형적 이야기라고 할 수 있다. 특히 옛이야기를 유아들에게 들려주는 것은 유아기에 겪는 불안과 욕구를 깊이 있게 다루어준다는 측면으로 볼 수 있을 것이다. 옛이야기는 유아가 성장하면서 겪게 되는 분리불안, 형제에 대한 갈등, 어둠이나 특정 대상에 대한 불안 등을 여러 상징을 통해 제시하며 그 내적 갈등을 다루는 법을 매력적인 주인공과 함께 겪어보며 삶에 대한 긍정적인 태도를 내면화할 수 있게 되는 긍정적인 측면이 있다. 그런 의미에서 본다면 옛이야기는 민담인 동시에 ‘성장이야기’라고 할 수 있을 것이다. 우리 옛이야기는 남성의 성장을 다루는 서사인 경우가 대부분이다. 또 ‘아버지 부재’를 모티프로 다룬 이야기가 많다. 전쟁등의 고난에 찬 역사가 미친 부정적인 영향은 가부장제하에서는 남자보다 여자의 경우가 더 가혹하였다. 우리 옛이야기에서 나오는 바리공주 등의 여성들은 서양의 옛이야기에서 나오는 여신들처럼 욕망과 본능에만 충실한 여성이 아니라 사랑을 잃지 않고 부성을 구원하는 존재로 나온다. 바리공주 이야기는 이처럼 버려진 딸이 무수한 시련과 극복이라는 “자아 찾기”를 통해 참된 사랑을 실현하는 존재로 거듭나는 성장이야기이다.
Abstract
Educational institutions for children and adults will be able to have a deep understanding of children's mental world through understanding and insight of psychological characteristics of old tale picture books. Contents of ol tales such as intensity, violence and cruelty were inappropriate to children, but these primitive natures rather became the factors of communication with children. Cognitive characteristics of childhood including ego-centrism, animistic thinking and realism of a dream coincide with the structure of old tales. writers for children should consider educational implication for children based on the understanding of prototype characteristics of old tales. For this, the present study is to analyze the representative old tale picture book , "barigongju", its prototype characteristics . This study has an implication in analyzing the daughter growth arrainging ‘absent father, the motif appearing in korean fairy tales and investigating its educational effect.
