본 연구는 커플관계자료 분석방법을 적용하여 부모의 자아존중감이 자녀의 양육태도에 미치는 자기효과와 상대방 효과를 분석하고, 자녀의 사회적 유능감에 미치는 영향을 확인하고자 시행되었다. 본 연구는 제 7차 한국아동패널조사에 참여한 1475쌍의 부모와 아동을 대상으로 하였으며, 자기-상대방 상호의존모형을 근거로 하여 분석하였다. 본 연구 결과 부모의 자아존중감은 온정적 및 통제적 양육태도에 자기효과가 있는 것으로 나타났고, 아버지의 온정적 양육 태도에는 어머니의 자아존중감이 유의한 영향을 주는 상대방 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 아버지의 온정적 양육태도가 아동의 사회적 유능감을 증진시키는데 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 커플관계자료 분석방법을 적용하여 부모의 자아존중감과 양육태도가 아동의 사회적 유능감에 미치는 영향을 밝히고, 부모 교육 프로그램 개발의 기초자료를 제공하였다는데 의의가 있다. 이에 부모 모두의 자아존중감을 증가시키고, 부모 각자의 역할을 강조하며 긍정적인 양육태도를 형성할 수 있도록 교육하는 프로그램 개발이 적용되어야 할 것이다.
Abstract
This research applied dyadic data analysis o analyze actor and partner effects on how parents’ self-esteem affects their parenting attitudes and to observe how this, in turn, influences the child’s social competence. The subjects of this study were 1,475 pairs of parents and their children who participated in the 7th Panel Study on Korean Children and they are analyzed based on the Actor-Partner Interdependence Model. Results revealed that parents’ self-esteem has an actor effect on warmth and control in their parenting attitudes, while the mother’s self-esteem has a significant partner effect on the father’s warmth in his parenting attitude. Furthermore, the father’s warmth in his parenting attitude was observed to have a significant influence on the child’s social competence. This research is noteworthy since it provides valuable preliminary data that could assist in the development of educational materials for parents, in addition to highlighting the effects of their self-esteem and parenting attitudes on a child’s social competence.
