Abstract

The purpose of this study is to exlore the positive emotions inherent in the self-reflection process of middle-aged women participating in the Integrative Literary Therapy Program and help them to lead a better life by using them to overcome difficulties in their present lives. In Integrative Literary Therapy, we see that middle - aged women have the resilience that they can heal and compensate for the repressed thoughts and language that they currently have. This research was conducted through an in-depth interview with six middle-aged women who expressed their intention to participate in the program at the C Library located in S ward of B city, through an Integrative Literary Therapy Program and an in-depth interview using the theories and techniques of the Fritz Perls Institute in Germany. The theoretical foundations of the study followed the narrative inquiry, procedures proposed by Clandinin and Connelly. The results of this study are as follows. First, middle-aged women used the concept of self-regulation ability, interpersonal skills, positivity' which are sub-categories of resilience, to discover the resilience that they have built into themselves as the driving force to overcome difficult situations through self-reflection. Second, listening from participants who participated in the positive resilience that they had not yet discovered, they experienced a positive emotional support as well as improved interpersonal skills. Third, this ultimately led to a change of new life through newly discerning own life and applying with reconstructing positive emotion in own life.
