Abstract
Advances in information technology have introduced new opportunities and challenges for businesses around the world, because they have facilitated both an increase in separation or removal of previous links in supply chains and used innovatively have led to new forms of relations becoming possible. And it is the and widespread use of the internet that has played a major role of changing the relation in the existing supply chain. However, some precedent researches have insisted that internet transaction system has affected negatively the result of the supply chain. The reason is while one of the major goal of internet transaction system is promote market efficiency through searching more trading partners, the important strategy of SCM is reducing trading partners to keep more close relations to improving collaboration between buyer and supplier. Therefore, the purpose of the study was to find out through the empirical study how the establishment and use of internet transaction system can affect the relationship between buyer and supplier, and how the operational and financial results of the industries can be changed depending on the relation between buyers and suppliers. As the results of the analysis, it was indicated that the internet transaction among the industries had the positive influence on the operational and financial results of the industries in the end. It made the relationship between buyer and supplier closer and more cooperative than ever. But it was also shown that in the relationship between buyer and supplier, the operational result had much more improved than the financial result, and this could be attributed to the reasons for the poor performance of internet transaction system in the many existing studies. In addition, as the use of internet transaction system was shown to be able to establish closer relation in the case of partnership relation, it was estimated that the effect like e-SCM would be brought in the long term, and it was also analyzed that in the case of arm’s length relation, the operational performance had been highly enhanced through the improvement of the relation.
