Abstract
This paper analyzed the relation among HPWS, strategy, and innovation, based on the sample extracted from KLI(Korea Labor Institute) workplace panel data. We utilized the workplace data set composed of The 5th year(2013) and the 6th year(2015). The aims of analysis are as follows. First is to analyze whether the impact of HPWS or strategy on the workplace innovation is positive or not. Second is the comparative test of Strategic-fit hypothesis or SOR(Stimulus-Organism-Response) hypothesis, which is expressed as moderation or mediation. Moderation represent for the strategic-fit model, meanwhile mediation represent for SOR model. We tried to improve the causality problem by using independent variables as 2-year precedent time lag than the dependent variable. The results are arranged as follows. First, prospector strategy and analyzer strategy made positive impacts on the workplace innovations compared to defender strategy. Second, The mediation effect of HPWS between strategy and innovation was significant, which implies that SOR perspective is more available than strategic fit perspective. Finally, the theoretical implications of the results and limitations are discussed.
