After considering a concept and character of semiotics, the formative study would be analyzed by syntax, semantics and practicality of Charles Morris's semiotics progress. According to a theoretical and empirical study, the formativeness of Sandra Backlund's works is analyzed from a semiotic perspective. The design qualification from a semiotics perspective must be interdependent by the format of syntax, contents of semantics and function of practicality. Thus, it must be comprised in relevance of human-body and clothing, or fundamentals and components of design, which all based on aesthetics. It must be considered as design contents about communication and meaninng delivery to symbol and as clothing design about a physical functionality ; body-movement, comfort, protection and put-on and off. These are to be the condition of clothing design. The works of Sandra Backlund have been interdependent and designers who makes a semiotics of clothing will complete a semiotics regarding to format, contents and function.
