This paper considers the changes in the relationship between South and North Korea due to changes in North Korean policy due to the new government in South Korea. It examines the contents and direction of North Korea policy of the Lee’s government and North Korea’s response to the changes. It is expected that the changed initiatives may regress the relationship due to the nullification of the previously respected policies. This paper then critically assesses ideal North Korea policy schemes in terms of the long term peace construction in Korea. It concludes that the major objective of the North Korea policy shall be in relationship to complete peace between South and North Korea.
Abstract
