최근 스마트폰의 보급으로 인해 보행 중에도 스마트 기기를 사용하는 사람이 급증하고 있다. 그러나 이러한 행동은 보행 교통사고의 위험성을 증대시키는 행위로 판단된다. 이에 대한 위험성 검증의 일환으로 본 연구에서는 현장에서의 실태조사 및 행동패턴을 분석하였다. 분석결과 보행 중 스마트 기기의 사용은 보행자의 주의를 분산시키고 교통안전에 부정적인 결과를 초래할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 그러나 실제로 도로상에서 주의분산 보행은 매우 만연해 있는 것이 현실이며 이에 대한 제재수단은 전무한 실정이다. 또한 제재만으로 이러한 주의분산 보행을 억제하는 것도 문제가 있을 것으로 보인다. 따라서 홍보 및 교육 등을 통해 보행 중 스마트 기기의 사용으로 인한 주의분산 보행의 위험성을 적극적으로 알릴 필요성이 있을 것으로 보인다.
Abstract
Individuals using smart devices while walking has rapidly grown recently due to the spread of smartphones. Despite enhanced conveniences, this behavior has been determined to increase the risk of a pedestrian accident. This study analyzed condition surveys and behavioral patterns in the field as part of a risk analysis. The results show that the use of smart devices while walking causes adverse consequences to the attention of pedestrians and traffic safety. In practice, distracted walking on the roadside is very widespread and realistic sanctions for this situation are nonexistent. In addition, suppressing distracted walking appears to be a problem by sanctions only. Therefore, it seems necessary to actively inform the public of the dangers of distracted walking due to the use of smart devices through promotion and education.
