形容詞述語文のテンスに関する一考察 -時間的限定性とテクストタイプを中心に-

본고는 시간적한정성을 축으로 하는 형용사 분류를 토대로 형용사 술어문의텐스 대립과 그 의미, 기능을 고찰하였다. 시간적한정성은 모든 술어를 대상으로 일시적인 현상인지 항상적인 질인지를 파악하는 의미론적 범주로써, 형용사술어문은 이를 기준으로 크게 상태 형용사와 특성 형용사로 나눌 수 있다. 상태는 일시적인 현상을 나타내기 때문에 회화문에서는 발화시를 축으로 하는 텐스형식의 대립을 갖지만, 특성은 시간 축에 위치하지 않는 항상적인 특징이기 때문에 기본적으로는 텐스 대립을 갖지 않는다. 이러한 형용사 분류와 텐스 대립의 상관을 확인한 후에, 회화문과는 인칭구조와 시간구조가 다른 지문에서는어떻게 텐스 형식이 사용되며, 어떠한 텍스트적 기능을 수행하는지 1인칭 소설의 지문에 한정하여 그 용례를 분석, 기술하였다. 이러한 고찰을 통하여 시간적한정성을 축으로 하는 형용사 분류의 유효성과 텐스 대립의 상관성, 그리고 텍스트 타입에 따른 의미, 기능의 차이를 확인하였다.
Abstract
This article investigated the meaning and function of adjective predicateaccording to its tense and textual type based on the classification of adjectives onthe axis of the temporal localization. The temporal localization is a semantic category that divides all predicates intotemporary phenomenon or permanent quality, based on which adjective predicatescan be largely divided into state adjective and property adjective. Since state adjective indicates a temporary phenomenon, it contains a conflictin a form of tense at the time of speaking in colloquial sentences but basically hasno tense conflict because it is a permanent characteristic that does not exist on thetime axis. After finding the correlation between such adjective classification and tenseconflict, the examples limited to the narrative sentences of novels in the first personwere analyzed and described how the tense form is used and what kind of textualfunction is carried out in a narrative sentence which has personal and temporalstructure different from colloquial sentence. Through such investigation, the effectiveness of the adjectiveclassification, thecorrelation with the tense conflict and the difference of meaning and functionaccording to textual type on the temporal localization were verified.
