초록
This study is about Korean captives during the Japanese Invasion of Korea in south-eastern Kyushu region. Among the Korean captives, there were a number of who became local samurai. These men were usually captured at boyhood and also, they were from the Korean noble families. It shows that Japanese put a emphasis on the assimilation of Korean captives, and the birth origin and social adjustment age were affect as a standard. There were also Korean women in the south- eastern Kyushu region. Some of them were a married life with Japanese men. There was a Korean woman called “Goryeo Assi”, well known in the local society. Also, there were Korean women who introduced herbal medicine and Korean food culture to the local society. There were Korean potters who lived in the Kyushu region. They were trained by the visiting Korean potters from the Saga and Kagoshima region to produce pottery. But local soil was inappropriate for the pottery, so instead of pottery, they chose to produce clay dolls. There are many traces that Korean captives formed a group in the local society, for example Goremachi and Goresan as a local name, and agricultural equipment names are still used today.
