Abstract

In this study, after the introduction of the care worker system in Japan and the implementation of the care worker training course, we will examine the current situation and issues of management in nursing care facilities. In addition, in order to realize strategic management that is chosen by patients and their families, it is clarified that there is an urgent need to develop nursing care leaders. The aim is to compile lessons from Japan's experience and use them to help educate caregivers in Korea. With the introduction of the long-term care insurance system, competition in the long-term care market has intensified, and the number of bankruptcies of long-term care establishments has increased. In the future, management initiatives will be indispensable for the nursing care service business as well. The number of elderly people in need of nursing care is expected to increase in the future, and the shortage of nursing care personnel has become a problem due to the declining birthrate and turnover. It is necessary to work on the retention of human resources, and in particular, the development of leaders of nursing care teams is an issue. The curriculum of care workers, education in management skills has begun, and specific education methods are being considered. The "Survey of Skills Required for Care Leaders" (2022) showed that nursing care leaders tended to have a high degree of mastery in technical skills while low in human skills and conceptual skills. In order for the nursing care service business to survive in an aging society with a declining birthrate, it is essential to plan and implement strategies. In order to develop future care leaders, it is necessary to consider educational programs that enable them to grow with strategic leaders.
