The connective marker '-kedun' has been classified as a conditional marker, but analysed regarding various pragmatic functions, such as a background builder, a polite marker or a discourse mood marker in discourse. This paper aims to examine a meaning schema explaining these pragmatic functions of '-kedun', regardless of its level and conditionality, within the framework of the relevance theory. I propose to analyze '-kedun' as an inferential marker constraining on relevance to the addressee. I suggest that '-kedun'-utterance should be interpreted within the domain of directives connected with it, whose function results in directives becoming more potential and desirable. As an utterance ending marker, the addressee interprets relevant information as more relevant by achieving one or more contextual effects and thus implicitly requiring actions.
