Abstract
This study examined actual assessment in clinical settings and present the way of diagnostic assessment methods of communication disorders children. The survey was delivered to total of 101 speech therapists and it was collected and analysed. The survey was made with 'Google Drive'. The survey was frequency analysis to confirm which test tool the therapist prefer and why they prefer and - verification to confirm how many test methods they used for data analysis using SPSS 18.0. Additionally, we conducted crosstab analysis on used number of diagnostic assessment methods according to demographic variables. First, collecting parent-report was the highest as 97.0% in preference to diagnostic assessment methods. Second, the most not-prefered diagnostic assessment method was observation and 31%-the highest percentage- answered 'not have enough time to observe'. Third, the differences in the number of diagnostic assessment methods used to examine precisely a communication disorders child was meaningful. Forth, the differences in the number of diagnostic assessment methods of regards for demographical variables were meaningful. These findings suggest that the diagnostic assessment of communication disorders children has been operating well but, conducted with integrated tests are not enough. Therefore, it is considered that actual information which the speech therapists can use effectively when they assess the communication ability of communication disorders children is in need.
