영어시험불안감에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구

초록

본 연구는 영어 시험을 준비하는 성인 학습자들이 경험하는 영어 시험 불안에 대한 요인 분석하고 바람직한 학습법을 제시하는 것을 목표로 하였다. 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 공무원시험 준비생을 대상으로 설문 조사를 실시하고 그 결과를 분석하였다. 영어시험 불안 정도는 학업성취도에 따라 유의미한 차이가 있으며, 또한 준비경험과 준비기간 사이에서도 유의미한 양상을 보였다. 이 같은 결과는 학습자들의 개별적 특성들이 영어시험불안의 중요한 변인임을 보여준다고 하겠다. 영어시험불안요인은 학업성취도, 준비경험, 준비기간 등의 순으로 중요한 것으로 조사되었다. 특히 개인이 영어시험에 대해 어느 정도 위협을 느끼는가에 따라 다르게 나타나는데 이것은 이전의 경험과 자신이 기대하고 있는 성공 혹은 실패의 가능성이 영향을 준다. 본 연구는 교육적 시사점으로 학습자들이 시험불안요인을 낮출 수 있는 흥미를 제공하고 학습자들이 적극적으로 참여하는 자기주도학습능력을 키워줄 수 있는 학습방법을 제시하였다.

Abstract

This study examined the levels of English examination anxiety and their causal factors in public offifcial examinatioan.. The findings show that the levels of English examination anxiety vary significantly in levels of study achievement.. indicating that both the preparation experiences and preparation periods are meaningful variablas of English examination anxiery. The findings also show that personal characteristics are meaningful factors. unlike the levels of language anxiery, its causal factors are almost constant with study achievement levels being the most important factor. This study suggests that the students and professors needs to the ways of self-direted learning., in addition to promoting to grow their self-directed learning abilities favorable to students' active participation in preparaion of public official examination.
