[목적] 본 연구의 목적은 일본의 지적장애 특별지원학교에서의 지적장애학생을 위한 정치 참여 교육의 실천 양상을 고찰하고 시사를 얻고자 하는데 있다. [방법] 이를 위해, 일본의 지적장애 특별지원학교에서의 정치참여 교육의 배경과 실태를 알아보고, 실천 사례를 수집 하여 분석하였다. [결과] 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 지적장애 특별지원학교에서의 정 치참여 교육은 선거권 연령 하향이라는 배경에서 강조되고 있으며, 계획적이고 체계적으로 이루어지고 있다. 둘째, 정치참여 교육은 선거체험 학습과 모의투표 학습으로 이루어지고 있 으며, 선거와 관련된 지식에 대한 체계적 이해와 실제 상황에서 활용해 보는 과정을 통해 실제 투표행위로 이어질 수 있도록 하고 있다. 셋째, 일본의 지적장애 특별지원학교에서의 정치참여 교육은 발달장애 학생들에게 계획적이고 체계적인 정치참여 교육이 필요하며, 이 러한 교육은 다양한 형태와 방법을 통해서 이루어질 필요가 있음을 시사하고 있다.
Abstract
[Purpose] The purpose of this study is to examine the practical aspects of political participation education for students with intellectual disabilities in Japan and to obtain suggestions. [Method] For this purpose, the background and actual conditions of political participation education at special support schools for intellectual disabilities were investigated, and practical cases were collected and analyzed. [Results] First, political participation education in special support schools for intellectual disabilities is being emphasized in the background of lowering the age of voting rights, and is being conducted premeditatedly and systematically. Second, political participation education consists of learning about election experience and simulated voting, and through a systematic understanding of the knowledge related to election and the process of using it in actual situations, it can lead to actual voting behavior. Third, political participation education in Japan's special support schools for intellectual disabilities implies that students with developmental disabilities need a planned and systematic political participation education, and such education needs to be carried out through various forms and methods.
