외상후 스트레스장애(PTSD) 아동을 위한 상담중심 미술치료 적용연구

본 연구는 보호자에 의하여 의뢰된 성폭력 피해 6세 남아를 대상으로 하였다. 연구의 주된 목적은 의뢰된 아동이 겪는 외상 후 스트레스 장애(PTSD)에 대한 위기극복 이었으며, 상담중심의 미술치료 기법을 적용한 상담 치료 사례 연구로 진행 되었다. 대상아동은 첫 상담 의뢰 당시 성폭력 피해를 입은 후의 심한 퇴행과 불안, 적대감 등을 보였으며 상담은 회기당 90분씩 주 2회 15회기를 실시하였다.연구 결과의 경우, 본 연구에서 적용된 미술치료 프로그램은 성폭력 피해아동이 동시 다발적으로 보일 수 있는 PTSD 문제행동을 감소시키는 동시에 아동의 정서적 안정을 가능 하게 하는 것으로 파악 되었다.따라서 본 연구에서 적용된 상담중심 미술치료 기법은 극히 제한된 상황에서 예외적으로 발생 한 성추행 피해 아동의 심리적 스트레스 치유를 목적으로 하는 비슷한 상황에서의 적용도 가능 할 것이다. 그러나 일 사례 연구의 형태로 진행된 점은 향후 연구에서의 확대 적용에 유의해야 할 점으로 지적 될 수 있다. 한편 본 연구에서 밝혀진상담중심의 미술치료 중재 프로그램은 외상후 스트레스 장애에 대한 문제행동 감소와 동시에 항구적 불안정서의 감소 및 적응행동 향상에 특히 긍정적인 효과가 알 수 있었다.
Abstract
This research is a case study, of which purpose is to help sexually victimized children to overcome PTSD symptoms utilizing arts therapy approach. The subject was 6 years old and was showing severe regression, anxiety, and hostility. Counselling, including parents counselling, has been done 15 times for 90 minutes each, twice a week from 2005 November first to December 23rd. Research findings are as follows. Firstly, comparison of before and after arts therapy program has shown positive changes in problematic behaviors derived from PTSD symptoms. Secondly, as the counselling sessions develop, arts therapy has shown positive effects on the reduction of subject's problematic behaviors. The fact that there is only one subject in this research poses certain limitations for us in generalizing the findings. However, providing intensive interventions as we did in this study to children with similar symptoms is likely to result in greater reduction of problematic behavior. Therefore, arts therapy of this study has positive effect on minimizing the PTSD problematic behaviors and maximizing adaptive behaviors of sexual offense victims. Thus, it is highly recommended that aid programs should be expended to improve victims' behavioral patterns and develop more desirable intervention methods.
