본 연구는 의붓아버지로부터 성폭력 피해를 입은 초등 1학년 여아를 대상으로 사고 후 아동의 낮아진 자아존중감을 높여주고 불안행동을 감소시켜주기 위해 미술활동을 중재한 사례이다. 대상아동은 사고 후 어머니와 주변사람에게 자신의 불안심리를 표출하지 않고 억제해 왔으며, 이러한 아동의 불안은 유기라는 부정적인 도식(schema)에서 기인되었음을 알 수 있었다. 이에 본 연구에서는 아동의 긍정적인 감정표현을 위한 출구로서 그림그리기와 외상내용을 대화로 발전시키고 외상과 연관된 기억을 노출시킬 수 있도록 인지를 재구조화하는 방법을 적용하였다. 총 13회기 동안 진행된 프로그램에서 대상아동의 행동변화와 심리상태를 관찰하고, Hare(1985)의 자아존중감 척도와 Spielbeger(1978)의 상태불안 척도를 이용하여 사전사후 변화차이를 비교 검토하였다. 연구 결과 본 연구에서의 미술매체를 활용한 중재가 성폭력 피해아동의 자아존중감 향상과 불안행동감소에 긍정적인 영향을 주었음을 알 수 있었다. 총 13회기의 짧은 기간에 성학대로 인한 아동의 충격과 깊은 신체 심리적 외상을 중재하여 본 연구의 결과를 일반화하기에는 상당부분 제한점이 있으나, 아동기의 신체와 감정의 깊은 상처로 자리 잡은 심한 인지왜곡은 성인이 된 이후에까지 외상으로 남을 수 있는 여지가 있어 이를 위기에 적절히 중재한 것으로써 연구의 의의를 찾을 수 있다.
Abstract
This research has been done on a first grade elementary school girl who had been sexually victimized by her step father. This case study that applied cognitive behavior art therapy of which purpose is to heighten self esteem, and reduce anxiety after an incident. The child had been suppressing herself from expressing her anxiety to her mother and people around, and I found that it had derived from the negative schema of anxiety of the child. Thus, this research has applied an art therapy to reconstruct the cognition, which enable the child to do a drawing as a way of expressing a positive feelings and relate trauma to dialogues, and also expose the memories related to the trauma. The child's behavioral and emotional change has been monitored 13sessions, and the changes has been compared using Hare's(1985) ego and Spielbeger's(1978) anxiety measures. This research has found that cognition behavior art therapy has positive impact on reducing anxiety and enhancing self-esteem of sexual violence victim child. The result of this research is correspondent with previous researches on sexual violence victims, which means that cognition behavior art therapy has positive effects on reducing anxiety and enhancing self-esteem of sexual violence victim child. There is certain limitation on generalizing the result of the research due to the short period of 13 sessions, which is not enough for completely curing shock and emotional trauma, but this research is still meaningful in that she has been treated to a certain level. If not, the distortion of recognition from physical and emotional damages may remain long after she is grown up.
