예비특수교사 교육 실습에의 동료코칭 활용방안 모색을 위한 문헌 연구

초록

본 연구는 특수교사 양성 대학에서 예비 특수교사들의 교육실습 운영의 효율화를 위해 동료 코칭을 적용할 수 있는 방안을 알아보고자 하였다. 교사 교육은 대학 교육의 전 과정을 통해 이루어지지만, 그 중 교육 현장에 직접 참여해 보는 교육실습의 경험은 자질 있는 교사 양성 교육의 주요 요인이 된다. 특히 미래 사회가 요구하는 특수교사란 실천적 지식, 반성적 사고 능력을 갖추고 연구자로서, 또한 일반 교사의 자문 교사로서의 교사 역할을 수행해야 하므로, 교육실습은 그 중요성이 강조되어야 한다. 최근 외국의 경우, 교육실습 운영 시 예비 교사들의 교수 기술과 반성적 사고, 관찰 기술의 신장 등을 위해 동료 코칭의 방법을 활용하고 있다. 본 연구는 예비 특수교사 양성 현장에서 동료 코칭의 효과적 적용을 위해 동료 코칭과 관련된 문헌들을 토대로 먼저 동료 코칭의 개념, 모형 및 효과를 알아보았으며, 아울러, 교육실습 시 동료 코칭을 계획하고, 절차를 진행할 때 고려해야 할 실질적인 요소들을 제시하였다.

Abstract

Peer coaching, an innovative outgrowth of clinical supervision, places the responsibility of supervision in the hands of the teachers themselves. Peer coaching involves a teacher observing another teacher colleague, then using the results of that observation to collaboratively set an informal goal for developing or improving instructional skills, strategies, and techniques. As special education moves toward a more indirect system for delivering services to students mainstreamed in inclusion classrooms, preservice training programs for special educators should incorporate training in classroom consultation into their current programs, including training in peer coaching. This paper provides information on peer coaching and presents findings from other studies that show the successes of inservice and preservice peer coaching. The practical strategies to apply peer coaching for preservice special education teacher practicum were addressed.
