Abstract
The most important aspect of developing effective advertising programs involves understanding consumers' response process consumers may go through in moving toward a specific behavior and how the advertising efforts of the marketer influence these responses. In many instances, the marketer's only objective may be to create awareness of the company or brand name, which may trigger interest in the product. In other situations, the marketer may want to convey detailed information to change consumers' knowledge of and attitudes toward the brand and ultimately change their behavior. Consumers' response process of advertising messages is affected by involvement level. Consumers may represent cognitive processes or reactions of advertising messages in some cases. In other cases, they may represent affective processes or reactions of advertising messages. This study is to investigate the types of response processes and reactions of advertising messages and to suggest advertising implications according to them.
