At the time when Buddhism was first introduced to Silla, the a Buddhist priestess, were given illegality, and when the Buddhism was accepted in the royal family, the princess of the princess became the decisive occasion. Also when King Bupheung(法興王) founded the first temple of Silla, Heungryun Temple(興輪寺), Queen of King Bupheung(法興王妃) founded Yeongheung Temple(永興寺). Thus, it can be seen that the role of women was very large when Buddhism was introduced and accepted in Silla. It was merely more than a woman's role as a mediator of Buddhist transmission. The acceptance of Buddhism in Silla was led by the royal family. Silla's early Buddhism was royal Buddhism ideologically, there was conflict with indigenous faith, and politically there was great friction with noble power based on indigenous faith. Conflicts with indigenous beliefs in the process of the early Buddhist tradition in Silla continued until it was recognized in the King Bupheung(法興王). Thus, the royal family actively accepted Buddhism, which played a great role in the royal family. The royal women of Silla in the ancient period played a role in supporting the ideological foundation of the kingship and ruling system through the sacredness as the priesthood. A royal woman who played a pivotal role in the existing indigenous faith built a temple called the temple of Yeongheung Temple(永興寺) and became a nunnery and gave it to the temple. The ideological foundation of the kingdom of King Bupheung(法興王) and King Jinheung(眞興王) was Buddhism, and the Queen of the King Bupheung(法興王妃) and the Queen of King Jinheung(眞興王妃) became nuns and contributed to the sanctity and legitimacy of kingship by giving it to the temple of Yeongheung Temple(永興寺). In Silla, the relationship between early Buddhism and royal women can also be seen the Do Yuya Narang(都唯那娘), the priest of the temple. The Do Yuya Naraang was virtually in charge of the management of Yeongheung's Nisshin and Buddhist temples, which had been taught by the King of Bupheung and the King of Jinheung. The queen of Silla in the Middle Ancient Period was attributed to the administrative order of Zhongbei as a mediator between the temple of Yeongheung Temple(永興寺) and the Doyueyangarang(都唯那娘).
