Objectives: The aim of this overview was to summarise the current evidence of published systematic reviews (SRs) addressing factors influencing of oncologic treatment decision-making for elderly cancer patients. Methods: We searched Ovid-MEDLINE up to January 2021. Relevant SRs were included based on pre-determined inclusion criteria. Only English or Korean SRs published were selected. The outcomes of interest were results related with factors influencing on treatment decision-making for elderly cancer patients. Narrative content analysis and qualitative review was conducted. Results: We included 6 SRs that met all inclusion criteria. Overall, there were SRs with observational studies or qualitative studies, most SRs published after 2014. There were 2 SRs reported outcomes with regard to factors influencing the treatment decisions. Other SRs described relevant results about influence on cancer treatment of geriatric assessment or geriatric assessment tool. As a result of analyzing factors influencing on cancer treatment, physician recommendation, patients’ previous health-related experiences and the extent of benefits and side effects generally were reported. Conclusion: We identified that the factors influencing acceptance or denial on cancer treatment decision as well as treatment decision by cancer type for elderly patients. Further studies were needed to using large and representative elderly Korean population.
